Following is an example of Web Services. In this case, it is being offered by the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs facilitated by the ICTA - utilizing the standards (mostly data and technical) as recommended in the LIFe V2. This utility allows 'consented' entities to use the standard location codes for Sri Lanka, for software applications that requires location codes to perform specific functions. For example in many GIS applications instead of creating the location codes as native utility/functionality, this Web Service can be utilized to generate required codes.
