The data related to this domain flows across many more government organizations than any other information domain. Citizen, Government as well as Business organization are using these data for the official requirements from a birth of a person and throughout life until death.

The standards for Project Coordination Domain were completed in 2009.

Rationale of selection

Credit should be given to then Secretary to the Ministry of Plan Implementation, Ms. Dhara Wijethilake (project initiated in 2009) for giving leadership to select this domain of which data is moving not only within government but donor agencies local and foreign. The need for defining a standard for data being exchanged across organization related to foreign funded projects has being a major requirement for the government in managing/monitoring these funds and the projects implemented through these funds.

The Objective of the assignment was to define the Data Elements which are shared among the various stakeholders within the above mentioned domain - in a manner the data could be exchanged and used without ambiguity among different systems within the given domain.
